He studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he obtained the Premier Prix in 1988. Member of the DIASTEMA Quartet since its creation in 1986, he won several Chamber Music international awards (Martigny, Ilzaach) and recorded several albums with labels NAXOS (“Saxophone Classics”, “French Saxophone Quartets”) and AMES (“D'Ouest en Est”, “Hispano”)
He has performed, amongst others, with l'Orchestre National de Montpellier, l'Ensemble InterContemporain and the Orchestre de Paris, and under such renowned conductors as P. Boulez, Z. Metha, M. Plasson, G. Prêtre, F. Layer o C. Eschenbach.
Versatile saxophonist, his passion for jazz led him to conduct the Big Band at the C.N.R. Montpellier from 1999 to 2006. He has also conducted and collaborated in several sessions of the Atelier 21, the contemporary music Ensemble at the C.R.R. de Montpellier Agglomération
His artistic and pedagogical activities have led him to explore other music universes, such as collective improvisation, sound-painting - which he practices regularly with his 12 saxophones ensemble- or the music theathe with BHL Trio (saxophones, clarinets and keyboards-percussions), an original band with a repertoire full of humour, poetry, french songs improvisation, recipes and many other facts. In 2011, he joined the group “Quartoch et les Gardiens du Skaï” and adopted a fusion style combining jazz, pop and funk to create their sensitive, explosive and original compositions.
Tenured professor at C.A. de Saxophone, he has been teaching at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Montpellier Agglomération since 1995, and has been assistant professor at the CNSM de Paris from 2000 to 2004.
