The duo BUBREG2 was established six years ago by clarinetist Bence Bubreg and saxophonist Márton Bubreg. The saxophone and clarinet share an especially close relationship, yet very contrasting in tone and balance, resulting in an amazing and special tricky euphony.
Bence studies clarinet with Harri Mäki at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and Max Bauer in Innsbruck. Márton studies saxophone at the Music Academy Munich with Koryun Asatryan. Together, the two young musicians have been awarded first prizes on various international competitions in the past years, including

The Duo BUBREG2 introduce the audience to their sonic world of unique sounds and closely blended tones. They are passionately devoted to modern music. They collaborate closely with contemporary composers, and play world premieres of their original compositions with an exceptional, particularly exclusive sound.
The Duo has a vivid concert activity. In 2016 they were invited to Ukraine to the renowned National Philharmonie in Kiev and they also overwhelmed the audience with their show during the opening concert of the famous International Tschaikovsky Festival. In March 2017 the brothers had their great debut in the Carnegie Hall in New York and, as a result, were the absolute winners of 52. Concertino Praga International Radio Competition and also the winner of the Helena Karaskova Prize in January 2018, the Duo had a fantastic concert tour in the beautiful South Bohemian towns this spring.
After Márton, the youngest contestant, had been awarded the Grand Prix of Tyrolean Classic Instrumentalist’s Prize and Bence - for his extraordinary artistic achievement - the Jeunesse Special Award in 2017 in Austria, the Duo was also awarded the absolute winner’s prize of the Austrian National Competition of Wind Instruments for Chamber Music in October 2018.
The Duo BUBREG2 concert schedule is tight these days. Wiener Konzerthaus and Opening Concert of ISA Festival in Austria, Estonia , Switzerland, Czech Republic. They also perform on the jubilee livestream concert of the Radio ORF Austria in November. These are the highlights of the season, together with their first CD being published by “Cesky Rozhlas”.
